Energy Psychology and Energy Healing
When you really stop and think about our relationship to energy, you realize, that we are all connected through energy magnetic fields.
Energy plays an integral part in our well being. If our energy system is out of sync our emotional and physical bodies will be affected.
Energy Psychology is a combination of Eastern and Western Psychology methods, practices and techniques. There are many, many different types of energy techniques and methods of healing. From Acupuncture, Reflexology, EFT, TFT, to EDMR to name just a few.
Energy patterns are formed through our unconscious layers of beliefs and thoughts. It is through negative associations and beliefs, judgments, unresolved issues, past traumas, toxic emotions etc., that our energy fields and patterns have a tendency to become blocked.
Energy healing is yet another approach to energy psychology. Energy healing has been made popular through Shamanic Healing. Energy healing interacts with human energy.
Restoring Focus and Balance
By tapping into our inner sensory stimulus we can break through the blocked energy returning our natural flow of energy, restoring our balance, our mind, body and spirit are rejuvenated and integrated. We become focused, invigorated and grounded. Transformation is possible.
The Hummingbird has amazing energy. On an average the hummingbird's wings beat around 50 beats per second. During courtship that have been known to beat around 200 beats per second.
Listening to the vibrations of the hummingbird’s wings has been known to open ones' psyche restoring health, focus and balance. I believe, that the vibrations of the hummingbird's wings, can play a significant role in directing and moving energy for healing purposes.
Intro
In my previous article, " Life Coaching Courses Through Hummingbird Therapy," we learned to recognize the hummingbird as a spiritual guide. By observing the hummingbird's behaviors and cues; our minds would be opened to new ways of learning.
In this holistic approach we could acquire the necessary skills and become our own life coach. With the hummingbird as a spiritual life coach or guide in mind, let us continue on.
Hummingbird Therapy
Let's look at hummingbird therapy in terms of a life coaching
course. In this life coaching course, the hummingbird will be our spiritual guide.
Learning by observing, the hummingbird has many lessons to teach.
For example: Observing the hummingbird whose darting high speed motion, power dives in a territorial stance or who hovers in mid air while enjoying the nectar from a flower.
A variety of senses are experienced. Your eyes experience the fast bright iridescent colors and hypnotizing glimpses of blurred wings.
If you truly listen, paying attention to the
hummingbird’s behavior and cues, you may perceive the silent language of
perception and thought.
Tuning into your senses you become mindfully aware as you listen carefully, you can hear the audible sound of a humming vibration.
For those of us who are not impaired and who have full range of all of our senses. The visual and audible senses connect converging in a fashionable style enabling you to perceive a connection. Because this is a natural process we tend to take our senses for granted. Therefore we do not fully appreciate them.
And for those of us who are not as fortunate to have all five senses available like Helen Keller. We overcompensate relying heavily on raw sensory impressions from the senses that we have.
Helen deciphered her surroundings through her sense of smell, touch and sensation. Through theses senses, she was able to conjure up images and visualizations. Through the limited senses that she had she was able to connect and communicate to the world.
Refining Our Senses
By refining her senses she proved that the mind was limitless.
Helen's inspiration and legacy has altered our perceptions on how to embrace a meaningful life full of richness and beauty.
Now imagine for one second you were not as fortunate to have been blessed with the gift of sight or sound. What you might, experience feeling, is the vibration as a sensation, when the hummingbird whizzes by or hovers overhead.
To fully understand what is meant by refining our senses. Try putting yourself in Helen's shoes. Imagine how mindfully aware and keen your senses would have to be in order to make a connection.
With that in mind let's explore a variety of life coach courses in regards to hummingbird therapy. These techniques, methods and exercises can be done while sitting in your hummingbird habitat.
Hypnotherapy and Hummingbird
As mentioned in my previous article, "How to Attract Hummingbirds into Your Life,""The hummingbird is not only mesmerizing when observed closely, for any length of time; it may have a hypnotizing effect.
Like hypnotherapy, you may experience a deep sense of relaxation.
While in this deeply relaxed state you have the ability to open the channels to your subconscious mind. Although, our subconscious mind is our friend and holds the key to our current issues and struggles. It also has the ability to hold us hostage and keep us trapped in negative thoughts, patterns and behaviors.
Negativity becomes powerful when fed often; it can become toxic and even deadly, entangling us in a web, wrapped and bound tight like a cocoon. A good example of this is, the more you fear something the more power you give it. You become your own worst enemy by feeding the fear.
Releasing Negative Thoughts
By embracing the negative thoughts, patterns and behaviors while in a deeply relaxed state of mind surrounded by beauty and peace allows us to open up the channels of our subconscious mind.
Find a comfortable place where you feel at peace, where beauty surrounds you and where your senses may be awakened. In this particular case we will be using a hummingbird habitat. a perfect setting filled with floral fragrances, beauty and inspiring little companions that have the ability to assist and transcend you into a deeply relaxed state.
Choose a comfortable chair, bench or bring a pillow to sit on the ground.
Just make sure that you are in a comfortable position.
Cultivating Awareness and Visualization
With your eyes closed, breathe in slowly, becoming mindful of your surroundings with each inhalation smell the fragrances; notice your reaction in your body. Is your chest expanding and contracting with each inhalation and exhalation? Or are you feeling constricted like in a straight jacket or a cocoon? If you are experiencing any tightening or discomfort in any part of your body, notice it and embrace it.
Create a visualization by choosing a symbol of beauty and comfort from your surroundings. Such as, floral petals.Visualize yourself lying down while your body is completely covered with floral petals. Imagine the sensory overload as you smell the fragrance and feel the silky petals comforting your entire being.
Or perhaps you may choose the sun as your symbol; in your visualization you may feel the rays of the sun penetrating immense warmth with golden rays to heal.
Stay with this visualization for awhile. When you are finished, gently give yourself a big hug and say something positive. Example: I am surrounded by love. I will learn to take care of my body by being loving and compassionate.
Affirm the Positive
Notice, Embrace, Visualize, Affiirm and Transform
Let me introduce you to an acronym that I have made to remind me of the steps in this meditative practice. I call it "NEVAT". It stands for Notice, Embrace, Visualize, Affirm & Transform.
This particular meditative exercise is a good one to follow. (NEVAT). Notice, Embrace Visualize, Affirm & Transform.
- By noticing and embracing your negative thoughts instead of doing battle with them, you are opening your channels up to your subconscious mind.
- Taking a symbol of warmth and comfort from your surroundings to create a visualization with opens new pathways allowing transformation to begin.
- Always end by affirming the positive with a loving kindness gesture and a positive affirmation.
Rejuvenating Mind Body and Spirit
The hummingbird with its spiritual significance is an amazingly enchanting little creature.
Through its magical, happy and extraordinarily uplifting presence it has a way of rejuvenating our mind, body and spirits.
Our hearts are opened and new pathways to enlightenment are created. We become mindfully aware of the here and now.
By refining our senses we become attuned to our inner landscape and develop a greater appreciation to the beauty that surrounds us, inside and out.
By Awakening our senses and attuning our awareness. We become mindful of our surroundings. By observing the hummingbird hovering over a flower while drinking nectar, we learn to savor the moment.
In this moment, we learn the fine art of listening. The silent language becomes visual as well as audible. Your heart will open like a lotus flower. You will hear, feel and listen as your heart speaks. In doing so, you will learn the language of the heart.
Observing the hummingbird requires practice and patience yet can be profoundly insightful and rewarding. Like watching your thoughts unfold in the moment, the hummingbird has a way to connect through sensory perception.
The vibrations of its wings have the ability to reach within, touching the deepest sensations of our soul.
The hummingbird magically unfolds the mysteries of sentience. It is through this unfolding process of life coaching courses through hummingbird therapy that we are blessed to discover who we are.
With open minds our hearts are touched; we welcome the amazing abilities of the hummingbirds spiritual guidance.
To live moment to moment, knowing who we are discerning our fullest potentials and gifts.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Thanks Sage for putting together yet another lovely Hub on these amazing birds. And for the fantastic meditation vids. They are truly superb and I will be coming back many times for more!

Sage, This is a fab hub and YES hummingbirds are magical and fluid with a soothing energy. I really must read this again as it is packed with very interesting concepts and I love the video, must see it all again. Thanks and Peace:) P.S. I'm just gonna have to pay it forward with a tweet and a face post etc. etc.
Sage, You are welcome :)
Wonderful hubs about Life Coaching, energy psychology and humming birds. The included meditations are so soothing and really help bring one back to Source. Thank you.
This is so beautifully done! It is true too about the senses and how if you are missing some, others take over. Our legally blind son has THE most refined sense of smell and hearing you can ever imagine. Touch as well helped him to compensate for his loss of sight - still does. He can tell if I have moved a piece of furniture about 1 mm - he runs into at first of course and then readjusts his 'wiring'. Remarkable all the therapies you right about though and as I said, I'm a huge hummingbird fan. They simply fascinate me with their small size and 'big effect'. I once had to get one that was trapped against a window in our attic. How I ever managed to get my hand around it I still don't know, then put it inside my shirt for safe keeping until I could get it outside to safety. Just feeling it next to me was an incredible feeling - I was so glad I could rescue it though!
Hmm, where can I buy those hummingbird, it is therapeutic. I am really interested in the energy healing as it is is more therapeutic, personal and it involves mind -- emotions -- coodination like the TCM, Thank you Sage for your series of hubs about this, Congratulations, I am your 200th follower, hehe, Maita
Very interesting concept. never heard of it but I feel I have a good understanding of it thanks to your hub, Sage! Well written!
Wow . . . never heard of this type of therapy, but sensory meditation I can relate to. I must have at least 10 or waterfalls in and outside of my home.
I keep one at my office, in my master bedroom, living room, dining room and have plans to put some in the front yard this year. In the spring, summer and fall the look and sound of running water provides something spiritual for me and my household.
Thanks for this hub the humming bird could be the one thing I need for outdoor meditation.
Hi, Sage, this was beautiful. it made me feel so relaxed when I was reading it. And the video of the hummingbird just made me hypnotised. wow, I am going to place this on reddit, so others can see it. thanks nell
I thoroughly enjoyed this article and I think humming birds are a great way to explain and understand sensory meditation. Great hub.
Sage, well if you're not a professional life coach, psychologist, or what have you then you should be. Your advise is great! This hub said so much about the ability to relax and purify your mind. Maybe it's just good enough to be wise.
Very interesting and beautifully written. I believe hummingbirds and many other things in nature do have some kind of healing power. We just have to learn how to appreciate and embrace all these wonderful presents nature has offered to us. :)
What a wonderful hub, I was taken in awe. Thank you so much for giving these words of wisdom to us. thumbs up...
I am SO glad I found this hub and your wonderful wisdom. I have never really studied humming birds, but watching the video I felt so moved. I will be studying them further. Your videos are wonderful. I was deeply moved and particularly struck by the words - Happiness is a choice. I realise that, and am trying hard to put it into practice. A very life enhancing hub. Thank you.
Sage, honestly this is brilliant but I'm really kind of freaked out because I was lying in bed last night thinking about what would happen if people gave/transfered more PURE energy to one another. How healing would that be? Your presentation and content are what hubs should be and this one on the front page.
I am so glad I read this hub, I do not believe in coincidences and I was meant to be here for a reason and read this
Cool
Be Well
Kimberly
Thank you
i love the way you put pen to paper in this article, i find it thoroughly fascinating; i will definitely have to come back and read the other articles on this subject.......thx 4 share
Sage, I drop by to see you here, and you have a 94 author score congrats dear. take care and happy weekend, Maita
Nature is always the best teacher, and I like your passion for hummingbirds. Thumbs up and stumbled. :)
One of my favorite hubs so far. This is great my friend. I don't know which part to comment on first. It was all so eye opening. Hummingbitd therapy, who would have thought of that. You really explained it well. I will always remember NEVAT. Wonderful job.
Sage, how are you, just dropping by to see if you've got new hub, Take care, Maita
Sage: This was a fascinating read, had not heard of Hummingbird therapy, yet, I am not surprised, as nature is very healing. Thanks for writing and sharing this. I learned something new tonight- even if its 4 months after you wrote this. :)
Rated up and beautiful!
I stumbled upon this with shock- One my nickname is Hummingbird and shortly after being named Hummingbird I noticed their presence around me more and more where I was. I consider them a sign of good luck. I have also been wanting to go into energy psychology and when I googled energy psychology this was one of the links that showed up. I cut and pasted the information about the beats of the Hummingbirds' wings per second and shared it with friends. I am truly astounded by this article and amazed and I do believe in Hummingbird therapy. Wow. I cannot believe such a thing is out there. The past few months my life has been damaged by negativity and toxic emotions. I was even in the hospital. I have been getting help and have made a recovery. I still feel that my mind's thoughts are always focused on past events or worrying about future outcomes and a lot of negativity. After reading this, however, I feel that spending more time with these tiny creatures could be of great use to everyone. In fact, it is strange after reading this I got a weird almost calming sensation....I hope to share it with more people and thank you so much for posting. :)
